The Battle Within

It’s hard to see yourself the way God sees you.

It’s hard to embrace both your challenges and your victories when you can’t recognize the winner within. Yet we must learn to celebrate ourselves and cheer ourselves on — even when we don’t fully understand the process.

The greatest battle we fight is often in our own minds. As Joyce Meyer wrote in Battlefield of the Mind, it can be exhausting to wrestle with our thoughts. Scripture reminds us, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) and “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).

We were born into a world filled with sin, set on a path toward failure — but God made a way. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Salvation calls for surrender — but in that surrender, we gain life.

Hold on to this truth: Jesus came to give life, and life more abundantly (John 10:10). Don’t let go of God’s unchanging hand. Stay in the light. Remain under His covering. Believe God for your life — because without Him, there is no true success.
